Collection: Lightweight Silk Wraps

Warmth without weight. A wrap fine enough to carry all day and forget you have — until the moment you need it.

The best wrap is the one you barely notice carrying. Heavy pashminas and knitted shawls get left at home precisely because they're a commitment; a lightweight silk wrap goes everywhere, because it costs you nothing to bring it.

Every wrap in this collection is made from 100% mulberry silk and hand-dyed in our workshop in Vietnam. Mulberry silk has an unusual quality: it's extremely fine and light, yet genuinely insulating — so a wrap that folds into the corner of a handbag still takes the edge off a cool room, an evening breeze or an air-conditioned office.

That versatility is the whole appeal. The same lightweight silk wrap covers your shoulders at a wedding, doubles as a scarf on the walk home, drapes over a coat in transitional weather, and slips into hand luggage for travel. The collection spans soft neutrals and pastels through to deeper jewel tones, across our ombré, brushstroke and shibori techniques.

Because it's so practical and so easy to wear, a lightweight silk wrap is also one of our most reliable gifts — useful enough to be used, beautiful enough to feel like a treat. Each piece is individually hand-dyed and unique.

All Silk & Bears wraps are handmade in Vietnam using traditional artisan techniques and ship from the UK in our gift box.

It is worth saying what lightweight really buys you: it is the difference between a wrap that stays at home and one that is actually with you when the temperature drops. Because mulberry silk is both fine and quietly insulating, a wrap that weighs almost nothing still does a real job. Care is simple — occasional gentle hand-washing in cool water, drying away from direct sunlight, loose folded storage — and the silk keeps its softness and colour for years. Bought once, a good lightweight silk wrap quietly becomes the most-used thing in a wardrobe.
