This black silk scarf is a true, deep black, hand-dyed on pure mulberry silk. Semi-sheer and very light, it is the evening wrap that goes with everything — velvet, jewel colours, ivory, or more black.
A note on the colour: a full, even black with no grey cast. Held to the light it turns softly translucent, so it layers over a bare shoulder or a velvet dress without hiding it, as shown here with our Bordeaux Gold velvet halter dress.
Hand-dyed in small batches in Nha Xa, Vietnam, and dried naturally on bamboo frames, so no two pieces are identical.
A note on handmade silk: Each scarf is traditionally woven and hand-dyed in Nha Xa, so you may notice small slubs in the weave or gentle variations in the dye. They are the natural signature of handwork, not of a machine, and make your piece truly one of a kind.

About Silk Habotai
Woven for centuries in Vietnam’s silk villages of Nha Xa and Van Phuc, habotai — “soft as down” — is prized for its featherlight drape and luminous sheen. Each Silk & Bears scarf is hand-dyed by artisans using traditional techniques, so no two pieces are ever identical.
