OUR STORY
A love letter to my daughter, written in silk.
My name is Tran. My daughter was born in March 2021 — half-English, half-Vietnamese, and the reason I am building this slowly, properly, by hand.
I started Silk & Bears a little before her, in the quiet of the 2021 lockdown, the year I turned forty-two. By the time she arrived, I knew exactly what I wanted this to become for her: something beautiful, made carefully, that she could one day inherit and recognise as hers. Not bought. Built — the way the women in my family have always made things that were meant to last.
Every Silk & Bears scarf is hand-dyed in Vietnam, in workshops where this craft has been kept alive for generations. The artisans are the makers. I am their champion — and the keeper of this thread between Vietnam, here, and the small girl who will one day ask where she came from.
