Mint and jade green in shibori — cool, fresh, with the geometric clarity that only resist-dyeing can achieve. The pattern that emerges feels almost botanical: clusters of pale mint against a deeper jade, like lichen on stone or new leaves after rain. It is a colour story with a very particular kind of calm.

Each piece is hand-crafted in Nha Xa, a silk-weaving village in northern Vietnam with over 700 years of artisan heritage. The shibori process is one of deliberate restraint: the silk is bound before dyeing, and the bound areas resist the colour, creating the pattern. It is only when the bindings are removed that the full design is seen for the first time.

100% pure mulberry habotai silk — featherlight, naturally luminous, and ideal for the quiet beauty of this kind of dyeing, where subtlety and depth exist in equal measure.

  • Fabric: 100% pure mulberry habotai silk
  • Technique: Traditional shibori resist-dyeing in mint and jade green — each piece unique
  • Wear it: Loosely draped or knotted at the neck, as a light shoulder wrap, or folded into a summer headscarf
  • Feel: Featherlight, breathable, and gently luminous
  • Gift: A serene and artisan gift — handmade in Vietnam
  • Size: 85 × 180 cm
  • Care: Hand wash cold or dry clean

About Silk Habotai

Woven for centuries in Vietnam’s silk villages of Nha Xa and Van Phuc, habotai — “soft as down” — is prized for its featherlight drape and luminous sheen. Each Silk & Bears scarf is hand-dyed by artisans using traditional techniques, so no two pieces are ever identical.
