About Silk Twill
The Structured Silk
Silk twill is a luxurious fabric renowned for its distinctive diagonal weave. This technique creates fine parallel ribs across the surface, giving the fabric a subtle texture and a smooth, lustrous finish. The diagonal structure lends silk twill its signature drape and resilience — elegant, yet quietly durable, with a natural resistance to wrinkles.
Made for Print
Twill’s dense, even surface makes it the canvas of choice for the world’s great printed scarves. Colour sits richly on the weave, edges stay crisp, and intricate artwork keeps its detail — which is why our printed designs are rendered exclusively on Grade 6A mulberry silk twill at a substantial 14 momme weight.
Drawn by Hand, Finished by Hand
Every Silk & Bears print begins as an original hand-sketched illustration before it is transferred to silk. Each scarf is then finished with traditional hand-rolled hems — the hallmark of a fine silk square — so the edges curl softly toward the light.
